Batch Feeding

• This feature is only available when you’re using this device for feeding. If you change your mind about using a device for feeding, log out of the app and select Yes or No when asked if the device will be used for feeding.
• Before you can begin using FeedComp to feed at your dairy, you must complete the required setup. See Before You Begin: Required Setup to learn more about the required setup order.
• Devices used for feeding must be connected to a scale. See Scales to learn more about connecting to your scale.

1. Write me

1. Tap the recipe A combination of ingredients used to make feed for animals to mix.
2. Tap + Add Pen Pen number under Pens.
3. Select one or more pens, and then tap Next at the bottom of the screen.
4. If the feeding was assigned to more than one pen, you can use the handle on the left side of an item to drag and drop it to a new position in the list, and then tap Next at the bottom of the screen.
5. Select DM/HD or AF, enter the ingredient Amount scheduled for each pen, and then tap Add at the bottom of the screen.
6. Tap Next at the bottom of the screen.
7. Tap Start Mix at the bottom of the screen.
8. Load the Ingredients for the Mix

   IMPORTANT: If you want to use both a feeding device and a loading device to monitor and manage loads, enable Loader View on a loading device. Loader View allows you to connect your loading device to your feeding device, so any operations on your feeding device are mirrored on your loading device. When Loader View is enabled on a loading device, you can advance or pause feedings and view real-time feeding details while loading is in progress.

   Follow the steps below to load a mix:

   1. If a timer was set for the ingredient, wait for the timer to complete. Or, tap Advance this Ingredient to move to the next step in the recipe. You can Skip or Ignore ingredients if needed. Click here to learn more.
      NOTE: If the weight of an ingredient detected by the scale drops below the threshold set for the mixer A piece of farm equipment that mixes all the loaded ingredients for a feed recipe. Mobile mixers are most common, but stationary mixers also exist. while mixing a recipe, FeedComp displays an alert that requires attention before adding the next ingredient to the mixer. To set the threshold, see Create New Equipment and Edit Equipment.

      Tap Acknowledge to confirm and record the ingredient's actual amount and continue mixing. Acknowledged ingredients are identified with an ACK icon on the Feeding History Report.

9. Drop the Mix at the Pens

   IMPORTANT: If you have enabled Loader View on a loading device, the loading device is automatically disconnected from your device once all of the ingredients are loaded.

   Follow the steps below to complete the batch feeding:

   1. Once all of the ingredients are added and the progress bar reaches 100%, FeedComp automatically advances you to drop at the pen. Or, you can tap Start Dropping at the bottom of the screen.
   2. Drop the mix at the first pen. You can Skip or Ignore pens if needed. Click here to learn more.
   3. Once the progress bar reaches 100%, FeedComp automatically advances to the next pen. Or, you can tap Advance this Drop to manually move to the next pen. As you drop the mix, the scale weighs the load and FeedComp calculates the percentage complete.
   4. Once all of the drops are complete and the progress bar reaches 100%, FeedComp automatically advances. Or, you can tap Continue at the bottom of the screen to advance manually.
   5. Tap View Report Card at the bottom of the screen to view additional details for the ingredients dropped and pens fed for the batch feeding. The batch feeding is now complete, and FeedComp compiles and presents your batch feeding summary.

FeedComp allows you to skip or ignore ingredients when loading them into a mixer, and you can also skip or ignore pens when dropping the mix when feeding.

When you're loading ingredients for a mix and dropping the mix at a pen, the following options are available:

• Tap Ignore to ignore the ingredient or pen. When you tap Ignore , the ingredient or pen is skipped and removed from the order entirely.
• Tap the arrow to advance to the next ingredient or pen.
• Tap Skip to skip the ingredient or pen. When you tap Skip , the ingredient or pen is temporarily skipped and moved to the end of the order so you can return to it later.

Once the loading or dropping process is started for a batch feeding, you can tap Abort at the top middle of the screen to abort the batch feeding.
